Goddess and Succulents

Title: Goddess
Medium: watercolor on paper
Size: 11 x 14
Inspiration: For my Watercolor 1 Summer class. Clothed figure. Reference found here.

Title: Succulent
Medium: watercolor on paper
Size: 8 x 10
Inspiration: For my Watercolor 1 Summer class. We were to use the technique created by Burt Silverman.  Instead of using masking fluid, the paper is painted with white gouache and then the lights are lifted out.  With practice I could learn to like this technique.
Title: Split Rock at Twilight

Title: Split Rock at Dusk WIP
Medium: watercolor on paper
Size: 11 x 11
Inspiration: For my Watercolor 1 Summer class. The beginning of my landscape midterm.  I think the clouds are working well thus far. I'm excited to finish it.

In other news History of Aesthetics is hurting my head.  For example: ‎"I will be, in other words, very interestedly interested not disinterestedly interested. This brings up an interesting aspect of the disinterested interest and that is it seems to be a solitary experience and not a social one." Studying Kantian Aesthetics.  Yeah...

Pouring and Clouds

Title: Flower Cup
Medium: watercolor on paper
Size: 6 x 6
Inspiration: For my Watercolor 1 Summer class.  Doing this weird pouring technique. Mask off the areas you dont want color on and then pour color over the rest of the piece. Weird.  Takes way too long to dry between layers.  It took 5 layers.
Title: Clouds Study
Medium: watercolor on paper
Size: 12 x 16
Inspiration: For my Watercolor 1 Summer class. Practicing clouds for my landscape midterm. Ive never really done clouds.  They are scary and hard.  Harder then painting the figure in my opinion.

Just Peachy

Title: Peach
Medium: watercolor on paper
Size: approx 10 x 10
Inspiration: First painting for my Watercolor 1 Summer class. This is the final painting.  I chose a peach because they are in season right now and the leaves are from my nectarine tree.  I think it is an interesting almost octopus like composition.I think it turned out nicely.  It has a nice warm quality to it that I like.

More Peacock and Grisille

Title: Peacock- Pavao (Work in Progress)
Medium: Oils on stretched Canvas
Size: 19.5x23.5

Inspiration: Peacock on a farm that Ali and I went horseback riding at. Another painting I brought to my class with
  Lynn Gertenbach.
She really helped me with the luminosity of him and she helped me work out the background. There is a bit more I want to work out but overall I like the way it is coming along.  To see the three previous step you can look here, here, and here.

Title: Peach Grisille
